Constellation wayfinding and messaging shown on a weathered phone

Message off-grid

Dead zone or dust storm, your words will still find your people: radio to radio.

Find your way

Step-by-step to a person, a camp, your bike, or the art car from 3am.

No internet. No default world. Yes moments.

Constellation is an off-grid app for Burning Man with mesh enabled messaging & live location: find your people, check in through the whiteouts, walk each other home.

Every phone is a node. Together we weave Black Rock City into its own living network, alive only inside the trash fence.

The Connection Ritual

Connect to the mesh with this simple prayer. A small ritual to increase direct connection.

The active ingredient is direct connection

This desert is a rehearsal for the world we know we can have. Each moment is a coordinate of the future, already alive in the now.

We are the connection. We are the miracle. We are perfectly imperfect and perfect together. The future we’re building has been here all along.

We’re raising awareness for digital human rights

Nine digital rights we hold as sacred.

Open

I can speak freely. I can share my thoughts, ideas, and work without needing permission — and without fear of censorship or erasure.

Secure

I can speak privately. I can share, organize, and express myself without being tracked, recorded, or overheard.

Personal

I own my data. My files, messages, and memories belong to me. I decide who can see them — and I can take that access away at any time.

Independent

I connect directly. I use systems that link people and devices without needing companies, platforms, or governments in the middle.

Trustworthy

I verify what happens. I don’t have to guess or assume. Every action leaves a trail I can check for myself.

Selective

I decide what to share. My information is private by default. Others only see what I choose to show — and only as much as they need.

Resilient

I count on my tools. My systems keep working, even offline, under pressure, or outside the mainstream. They don’t break when someone says so.

Portable

I own my identity. It moves with me. It’s under my control, not tied to any platform — and I decide who can use it.

Safe

I set my own boundaries & limits, to avoid harm, and maintain control. I choose how others reach me, interact with me, and affect my experience.
